Beginner Olympic Weightlifting Course – 5 Sessions

Session 1 – Introduction & Basics

Sat 13/12/2025 – 10:00am

  • Clothing guidance (comfortable gym wear)

  • No heavy lifting

  • Warm-up fundamentals

  • Bar grip, stance, balance

  • Basic bar drills

  • Learn squat, deadlift, press

  • Build confidence & foundation


Session 2 – Snatch Progressions

Sun 14/12/2025 – 10:00am

  • Bar warm-up

  • Snatch grip + setup

  • Overhead drills

  • Muscle snatch → tall snatch

  • Hang snatch (hip → knee)

  • Snatch from floor (light)

  • Bar path, timing, smooth movement


Session 3 – Clean Progressions

Sat 20/12/2025 – 10:00am

  • Mobility + bar warm-up

  • Clean grip + front rack

  • Muscle clean

  • Hang clean (hip → knee)

  • Clean from floor

  • Clean deadlift (posture + bar close)

  • Fast elbows, balance, safe receiving


Session 4 – Jerks & Combinations

Sun 21/12/2025 – 10:00am

  • Shoulder + overhead warm-up

  • Press → Push Press → Power Jerk → Jerk Balance

  • Split-jerk footwork

  • Dip & drive timing

  • Clean + jerk combinations

  • Light, technical, controlled movement


Session 5 – Putting It All Together

Sat 27/12 or Sun 28/12 – 10:00am

  • Quick review warm-up

  • Fast run-through: snatch, clean, jerk

  • Light full lifts with good technique

  • Individual video recording

  • Personal technique feedback

  • Tips for training safely in any gym
